Different Types of Decks

So you were thinking of adding a deck for your next home improvement project. A deck is a beautiful and functional addition to your home. It will be best to learn about decks so you can decide what’s the most suitable deck for your home. To help you gain some deck knowledge, siding contractor V. Nanfito Roofing & Siding, Inc. shares different types of decks you can choose from.

Different Types of Decks

Wraparound Deck

A wraparound deck is commonly compared to an old-fashioned wraparound porch. The difference in a wraparound deck is it’s slightly elevated and that you can make some of the parts larger than the rest. It’s okay to have uneven parts, as the deck can be customized depending on your needs. You can even customize some parts to look more like a room.  It can also help improve your home’s air circulation.

Multi-Tier Deck

If you have a large home and property, consider a multi-tier deck. It’s also suitable if your property covers different elevations. A two-story deck can be an exciting addition to your home with its different levels of decking connected by steps or paths. If your property is on a slope, it helps maximize your use of outdoor space. Just consider that depending on your multi-tier deck’s design, some parts of the exterior of your home like your gutters can be required to be adjusted.

Detached Deck

Think of the detached deck as an island that you can position anywhere on your property. Adding a stair or pathway to the detached island makes it an elaborate deck perfect for a bigger outdoor space. If your property has areas with poor drainage or uneven terrain, a detached deck can reclaim that area.
